How to get there: The reserve follows the River Tone in Taunton between Firepool Weir (West upstream) and the M5 motorway adjacent to Hankridge Retail park (east downstream)
Situated off the main A358 Toneway and the A38 Bridgewater Road.
Visitor facilities: Car parking.
Information boards, leaflets and a Total Communication Trail for people with learning difficulties.
Education pack available.
What to see: Habitats include the River Tone, lake, grassy banks and berms with standard trees and a small area of woodland.
The reserve is an important habitat and movement corridor for a host of animals with otter and a number of bats being recorded. A large number of bird species occur including kingfisher, dipper, grey wagtail, mute swan, grey heron and reed warbler. Butterflies include small and large skipper, marbled white, small heath and small copper. Also good for dragonflies and damselflies.
