| How to get there: |
The site can be accessed locally by foot or cycle. Road: Hacton Lane is off the main A124 Upminster Road. Buses: 193, 256, 165, 287 and 372. Tube stations are Hornchurch and Upminster Bridge which are approx. ½ a mile away from the site.

| Visitor facilities: |
The Ingrebourne Valley LNR has a car park at its northern most tip off Hacton Lane, and in Hornchurch Country Park Squadrons Approach off Airfield Way. A ranger service is present within Hornchurch Country Park. A green link surfaced path, bridleway and cycleway allows access through the site alongside the River Ingrebourne. It is accessible by pushchairs and wheelchairs. Local schools can arrange river studies event via the LBH Environmetal Education Officer (in the environmental strategy department) The site also has an apiary run by Romford Beekeeping association. There are no toilets or refreshments on site.

| What to see: |
The LNR provides an excellent opportunity to explore and view a full range of habitats including secondary woodland, rough grassland, acid grassland, river, marshes, wetland grazing, and reedbeds. Important for a wide range of plants, animals, birds including an active heronry, insects, and reptiles. Species include great crested newt, slow worm, harvest mouse, water vole, bumblebees, green woodpecker, grey partridge, house martin, pochard, reed bunting, skylark and song thrush.
