How to get there: From city centre or M1 - join A57 Mosborough Parkway. At Coisley Hill roundabout (junction with B6064) take the turn to Woodhouse (Coisley Hill). Go up the hill and after about 200m take the first right turn into Stone Lane (signed Trans-Pennine Trail Visitor Centre and Car Park). This is a bumpy track. After about 400m (1/4 mile) turn right into a brick dust car park. The Visitor Centre is beyond the wooden gate, slightly down the hill on the left.
Visitor facilities: Visitor centre and Birley Spa Bathhouse (both accessible), weekly led Health Walk, Tactile Trail, Easy Going Trail, Trans-Pennine Trail are part of 8km of Public Rights of Way - soon to be 4 way-marked trails supported by leaflet. Car parks and toilets at Visitor Centre (24/7) & Bathhouse (when open). No refreshments unless arranged. The Visitor Centre is used for a variety of groups and the Bathhouse is used for schools. Full range of events run by the City Council Ranger Service (see website). 3 leaflets - History, Walks and Wildlife in the Shire Brook Valley.
What to see: Habitats include lowland heath, ancient meadow, woodlands, ponds, brook and marshland.

Local Biodiversity Action Plan species - water vole, harvest mouse, bats and great crested newt.
