How to get there: By road exit M3 at J4a and follow signs to Fleet until you see brown signs to Fleet Pond.
Trains or bus to Fleet Railway Station on the northern boundary of the lake.
Visitor facilities: Car park off Cove Road (A3013). Surfaced and unsurfaced paths with some suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs all year round.
Picnic site, jetties, boardwalks, interpretation signs, leaflet, bird watching areas.

What to see: Fleet Pond is the largest freshwater pond in Hampshire and was known in Saxon times as "fugelmere" and was used to provide fish for St Swithins (Winchester Cathedral).
Habitats include wet and dry heath, wet and dry woodland, open water, reedbeds and marsh.
180 species of birds have been seen including reed warbler, kingfisher, cormarant, common tern, heron and great crested grebe. 26 species of butterflies, 21 dragonflies and 400 wild flowers including marsh marigold, meadowsweet, water mint, water forget me not, purple and yellow loosestrife, marsh cinquefoil, marsh lousewort and rushes and sedges.
The site is good for grass snake and adders are found on the drier areas. Mammals include pipistrelle and Daubenton's bats, shrews and roe deer.
Volunteer and 'Friends of' groups: The Fleet Pond Society supports the Countryside Rangers and volunteer opportunities for the local community.
