How to get there: From the A507 travelling east from Woburn turn left onto the B530 towards Ampthill town centre. After 150 metres park in the lay-by on the right hand side of the road, opposite the Football Club, next to the Rugby Club entrance. Walk down the track past the Rugby Club for 200 metres to the reserve. The reserve is also accessed from the Alameda and Station road in Ampthill.
Visitor facilities: Park in lay-by opposite the football club. Walk down track past the rugby club for 200m to reserve.
Firm, sandy paths with some slopes.
Dogs welcome on leads.
What to see: The reserve contains large areas of heather growing together with birch, oak, gorse and broom scrub. The north western corner of the reserve supports a small area of acidic mire and ponds, marsh violet can be found here with willow carr gently shading the water. The open heath provides a home to the common lizard and insects such as solitary bees and wasps as well as woodpeckers and nesting birds.
